Police seek suspect in robbery of auto parts store

EAST BRUNSWICK TWP. -- Police are looking for a suspect in a recent armed robbery at an Advanced Auto Parts.

Last Thursday, at around 9 p.m., police responded to the auto parts store on Route 18, police said in a statement.

An unidentified man "entered the store wearing a ski mask and brandished a handgun."

He took brought the two employees working at the shop at the time into the office area and "removed an undetermined amount of money from the safe," the statement said.

He "tied up the employees and fled the store in an unknown direction."

The employees were not injured, and no customers were in the shop at the time.

Police said they did not known whether the suspect left on foot or fled in a vehicle.

The man is described as a "light-skinned, Hispanic male between the ages of 30 and 45 years old, approximately 5-foot 9-inches, average build, black eyebrows and dark colored eyes," police said.

Police added that he was wearing a black ski mask, dark blue or purple hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and light brown boots. The suspect may also have a colored tattoo on the back of his left hand.
