A fire that heavily damaged a two-story office/garage in South Brunswick Sunday has been blamed on a faulty chimney.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK -- Fire officials have ruled that the cause of a blaze that heavily damaged an office building and garage on Avenue F Sunday night was accidental.
Authorities said investigators believe the fire was connected to a faulty chimney.
Police received a 911 call at 9:15 p.m. reporting the fire at the building off Finnegan's Lane, according to authorities.

Kendall Park Fire Chief Rob Cioffi said on arrival firefighters encountered heavy flames throughout the structure.
"We were able to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby homes," Cioffi said. "The structure is still standing but suffered heavy damage."
He said the fire required six fire companies and 70 firefighters to extinguish. Firefighters got the blaze under control in 20 minutes but remained on the scene until 3 a.m. Monday morning.
Authorities said there were no injuries in fighting the fire.
The fire companies were Monmouth Junction, Kingston, Franklin Park, North Brunswick, Rocky Hill and the Plainsboro Fire Departments in addition to Kendall Park.
