Money went to the state's only intensive care burn unit.
EDISON -- Firefighters from around the state of New Jersey cooked food Monday to help raise money for the St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston.
In the past five years, the event has raised $107,000 for the state's only intensive care burn unit.
"The communities that are important to us are the firefighters, the EMS and the police," said Stephen P. Zieniewicz, the president and CEO of the hospital. "We all work together."
The event, at the Pines Manor in Edison, was hosted by the New Jersey State Firefighters Mutual Benevolent Association.People paid $60 to $65 to attend and eat food cooked by firefighters and also by local restaurants.
Twenty fire departments competed in three categories.
