Repairs to the Parkway Bridge in Sayreville will close Rt. 535 between Main Street and Sherwood Rd. for three weekends.
SAYREVILLE -- Washington Road, also known as Rt. 535, between Sherwood Road and Main Street will be closed for three upcoming weekends to facilitate repairs to the Garden State Parkway bridge in that location, according to police.
Police said The closures are scheduled for Friday evening until Monday morning, the weekends of March 11-14, March 18-21 and April 1-4.
Motorists will still be able to reach the Rite Aid at Main Street and Washington Street and businesses between Ernston Road and Sherwood, but all commercial traffic will be detoured to Ernston Road unless making a delivery to a business, police said.

Police said officers will be stationed at Ernston and Washington Roads to direct ttraffic on to Ernston Road. Officers will also be stationed at the "hard closure" at Sherwood/Washington roads and the west access driveway of the Rite Aid.
