Three horses decided to pay their neighbors a visit in Old Bridge, literally--and ended up in the family's backyard. Watch video

OLD BRIDGE — Tejash Shah and his family were at their Remington Court home Thursday afternoon when they were joined by the neighbors who live in the stables behind them--three horses who decided to come pay a visit.

"They were just walking around and doing what horses do," Shah said. "I guess they realized the fence (separating the stable yard and the Shah's backyard) was weak," Shah said. "So they decided to push it down. This was kind of fun. They weren't harassing anyone.

He called the police who helped round up the horses and get them back home. Hoof marks were visible on the lawns of Shah's home and the house next door.

Shah said it wasn't the first time it happened.

"It's happened a couple times before," he said.

The property behind his home was once a large commercial riding business, known as Prestige Stables, on Route 516, but it is now closed.

The three horses are owned by a woman who did not want to comment, but said the animals are her personal horses.

Shah said the woman and the others who own the property and the horses "are very nice."

He and his family have lived in their home for more than 10 years and he has not had a problem with the stables, even if he has had equine visitors on occasion.
