The DOT said starting Monday the lane closures will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and at night from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. weekdays and nights for several weeks.
The statement said initial work will consist of shoulder lane closures for sign installation. Project work, consisting of milling and paving, the installation of curb ramps that are compliant with the Americans With Disabilities Act, and pedestrian signals at each intersection is expected to start within s few weeks.
The $2.25 million state-funded project will maintain at least one lane in each direction at all times to minimize impact on motorists, according to the DOT statement. Lane closures will be during off-peak hours and there will be temporary ramp closures with signed detours during overnight hours.
The project is expected to be completed by early 2017.
The DOT statement said the precise time of the work is subject to change due to the weather and other factors.
