SOUTH BRUNSWICK -- At least one person was injured in a "serious crash" on the New Jersey Turnpike Thursday afternoon, police said.
In a tweet, New Jersey State Police said a truck overturned on the southbound side of the Turnpike near milepost 74.9 in South Brunswick.
One person suffered "serious injuries" and was flown to the hospital, the tweet said.
A state Department of Transportation website that monitors traffic, 511nj.org, said the crash happened shortly after 3 p.m. north of exit 8A.
All lanes on the southbound side in that area are closed as of 3:05 p.m.
As of 3:30 p.m., there is a four-mile backup from south of exit 9 (Route 18) in East Brunswick to north of exit 8A (Route 32) in South Brunswick, 511nj.org reported.
