A Rutgers University student was robbed early Friday morning on Handy Street in New Brunswick, Rutgers police said.
NEW BRUNSWICK -- A Rutgers University student was robbed early Friday morning as he walked on Handy Street, according to university police.
A police statement said the student, who was uninjured, was walking about 12:30 a.m. between Commercial Avenue and Jones Avenue when a small, dark colored SUV stopped across from him.
Police said a passenger got out, pulled out a handgun and demanded money. Then the robber took the student's cell phone, got back into the SUV and drove off in the direction of Commercial Avenue, police said.
Police said the description of the robber and vehicle is limited.
