NEW BRUNSWICK -- City voters re-elected two incumbents and a newcomer to the New Brunswick Public Schools Board of Education on Tuesday in what remains the county's sole April school board election.

Challenger Yesenia Medina-Hernandez received 156 votes, according to figures provided by the county clerk's office Tuesday night.

Voters also decided on a ballot question asking whether to raise $28.9 million for the general fund from local property taxes for the 2016-2017 school year.

The ballot measure was approved 264 to 77, according to figures provided by the clerk's office.

Four mail-in ballots had been cast in favor of the ballot question and four had been cast against.
