Edward A. Peters, 33, of New Brunswick, is facing multiple charges, the Daily Record reported.
PARSIPPANY -- A New Brunswick man is facing charges after he allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriend's apartment before dawn on Thursday morning and prevented her and another person from leaving by holding them at knifepoint, the Daily Record reported.
Edward A. Peters, 33, was remanded to the Morris County Correctional Facility on $75,000 bail on charges of violating a restraining order, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, criminal restraint and burglary, the newspaper reported.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene at about 3:30 a.m. Thursday on a report of a barricaded individual in a unit of Lakeview Garden Apartments on Reservoir Road near Central Middle School and one individual was placed into custody later that morning, Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp said last week.
Knapp didn't say how the individual was taken into custody but he did say no one was injured.
Peters is also accused of stalking his ex-girlfriend by getting a job at the gym to which she belongs, repeatedly contacting her by phone and email and appearing at locations she frequents, the Daily Record reported.
