Officials have released an update on the soldiers injured in the severe crash on the New Jersey Turnpike recently.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK -- Two soldiers have been released from the hospital after being involved in a severe crash recently on the New Jersey Turnpike.

Earlier this month, a military Humvee flipped over near milepost 74.9 on the southbound side of the Turnpike, leaving four soldiers injured.

Two of the soldiers, a man and a woman, were critically injured, according to a previous report. A third soldier, a man, suffered serious injuries, and the fourth was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center in New Brunswick with unknown injuries.

In a statement on Monday, Capt. Patrick Bishop, a spokesman for the 412th Theater Engineer Command and an antiterrorism advisor, had limited information on the soldiers' status, saying that one soldier was "still in fair condition."

"Another soldier," Bishop wrote, "is still being assessed, as he was in fair condition last week."

Bishop was not authorized to release which of the soldiers had been recently released from the hospital.

"That is all we can release at this time," he said.

The soldiers were U.S. Army reservists stationed in Queens, New York.

It still is unclear what may have caused the truck to overturn.
