Two brothers were injured after being struck by a vehicle that fled.
SAYREVILLE -- Two children were injured in a hit-and-run crash Monday morning, according to a statement from the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.
At around 7:45 a.m., two brothers, ages 5 and 8, were walking in a crosswalk on Main Street on their way to school when they were struck by a vehicle that fled, officials said in the statement.
The boys were taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center. Their condition is not known at this time.
The driver, whose name is not being released by police at this time, was apprehended by authorities shortly after fleeing, police said.
The crash happened near Our Ladies of Victories School.
The investigation remains ongoing, officials said.
