SPOTSWOOD - A woman who attempted to buy the prescription painkiller oxycodone on the street was instead robbed and dragged by the alleged drug dealers' car, according to police.
Driver Kelly Kehoe and passenger Kristen Wolfe, both of South Amboy, were arrested and charged with robbery after the incident, which occurred earlier this month on George Street, police said in a news release Wednesday.
A woman told police she tried to buy $100 worth of oxycodone pills from two women in a vehicle.
"When the victim presented the money to the female driver to make the buy, the female driver grabbed the $100 out of the victim's hand," police said.
"The driver then accelerated at a high rate of speed while dragging the victim approximately 20 feet down the road," police said.
The victim suffered leg and back injuries, police said.
The suspects got away before police and paramedics arrived.
Kehoe and Wolfe were later arrested and taken to the Middlesex County jail, where they remained on Thursday in lieu of $150,000 each, no 10 percent option.
The unidentified victim was later charged with loitering to obtain drugs and given a summons to appear in municipal court, police said.
