Daniel Ruiz, 26, has been charged with sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child and other crimes.
LINDEN -- A 26-year-old man walked into the children's section of the Linden Public Library on Saturday and exposed himself to several kids, police say.
Daniel Ruiz went to the children's reading area around 1 p.m., unzipped his pants and then fled the library on a bike after library staff confronted him, Capt. James Sarnicki said.
Linden police enlisted the help of neighboring law enforcement agencies to identify the suspect. Officers on Tuesday fanned out to look for him at several addresses and found him at a relative's home in Sayreville, where they arrested him.
Ruiz is charged with sexual assault, criminal sexual contact, four counts of endangering the welfare of a child and four counts of lewdness. He is being held at Union County Jail with $400,000 bail and has a court date set for next week.
Linden police ask anyone with information about the incident to call Detective Milos at 908-474-8421.
