NEWARK -- Detectives are in the early stages of the investigation that left a 27-year-old man in critical condition with gunshot wounds and don't have a motive yet, according to police.
Police said the man, who is not being identified, was shot on Sanford Avenue about 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
Capt. Derek Glenn, spokesman for the city's Dept. of Public Safety, said the detectives from the department's Cease Fire Shooting Response Team, are handling the investigation.
