Flames consumed a house in Plainsboro early Wednesday morning.
PLAINSBORO -- Raging flames consumed a house on Plainsboro Road, between Dey and Stalks Crossing roads, early Wednesday morning, officials said.
Firefighters responded at around 1:15 a.m., according to officials.
People were home at the time of the fire, but no one was injured, according to Chief Brian Wagner, of the Plainsboro Fire Co., who commanded the scene.
The house was a total loss and is completely uninhabitable, Wagner said.
Officials from the Red Cross responded to the scene to provide assistance to the family, including temporary shelter, according to Wagner.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, said Capt. Tom Healey, of the Plainsboro Fire Co., in a statement.
Plainsboro Township Fire Marshall John Petrino is conducting the investigation into the blaze, Healey said.
Responding agencies included Plainsboro Rescue Squad, Plainsboro Plasma Physics Laboratory Fire Department, Slackwood, East Windsor Volunteer Fire Co. 1, Hightstown, Cranbury, Monroe Township Fire Dist. 2, Kingston Volunteer Fire Co., Kendall Park and the Middlesex County fire coordinators.
