New Brunswick High School graduation 2016 (PHOTOS)
NEW BRUNSWICK -- Facing his first graduating class as principal of New Brunswick High School, Jorge Diaz, exhorted the 323 members of the Class of 2016 Thursday night to "make a good impression, be passionate about what you do and give back to your community."
Then he added, "remember, your legacy begins now."
Diaz spoke after the soon-to-be graduates were given a rousing welcome by family and friends who packed the school's gymnasium to watch them get their diplomas.
This year's valedictorian, Abelardo Cruz Cruz has already begun to create his legacy and plans to go to Princeton University in the fall where he plans to major in mathematics. The salutorian, Daniel Castro, will attend Rutgers University's School of Business to pursue a degree in finance.
