The NJ State Police confirmed that troopers are investigating a man killed on the Turnpike and have arrested a woman.
CARTERET -- The NJ State Police have just confirmed that authorities are investigating a homicide just off the N.J. Turnpike by the entrance ramp to the northbound outer lanes of Interchange 12.
The State Police said troopers responded to a report at 3:21 a.m. Monday and found a bleeding, unconscious man in a vehicle. The man was pronounced dead.
The statement said "a woman connected to the incident is in custody and is being questioned at this time."
The ramp has been closed as part of the police investigation since early Monday morning.
The investigation is being done by the State Police and the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.
