The motorcycle struck a jeep after going through a red light, according to police
OLD BRIDGE -- A 23-year-old motorcyclist was killed Tuesday after police say he ran a red light on Route 516 and collided with an SUV, according to a report.
Vincent M. Rossi of Old Bridge was traveling east on a 2006 Honda when he hit a 2013 Jeep attempting to make a left onto Route 516 west from Cottrell Road, police told MyCentralJersey.com.
Rossi broadsided the Jeep after weaving through traffic by passing motorists on the right just after 7:30 p.m, the report said citing police. Route 516 is a single lane in each direction.
Rossi was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Jeep was brought to the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick with neck pain, the website said.
