A statement from the Rutgers Police Department says the incident occurred Saturday night.
NEW BRUNSWICK -- Police are asking the public's help finding several individuals involved in a fight at a party in a home near Huntington Street and Easton Avenue.
According to a crime alert from the Rutgers Police Department, the incident occurred last Saturday around 11 p.m. at a party in a private residence.
Two victims, who apparently were trying to break up the fight, were cut during the altercation by an "edged weapon," university police said. Both were treated for non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital, police said.
The department is asking that anyone with information call the New Brunswick Police Department's detective bureau at 732-745-5217.
Police also said those who live in that area should be alert when walking, especially in isolated or dark areas, and to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
Officials also suggested that residents in that area take advantage of the escort program provided by Rutgers police. Anyone looking for a security escort can call police communications center at 732-932-7211.
