One of two North Brunswick police officers decided to play football with a group of kids.
NORTH BRUNSWICK -- Two officers were dispatched to break up a fight at Sabela Park Tuesday.
Police said when the officers finished handling the call, one of them noticed some kids playing football in another part of the park and decided to join in -- as quarterback.
The officer's outing on the football field comes as many towns in New Jersey and elsewhere grapple with ways to build a better relationship with the community.
Posting his picture on Facebook, the department said, "Looks like he's doing alright!"
Seems like residents liked it, too.
