State Police say the cause of an accident that killed a motorist Sunday on the Turnpike is still being investigated.

CRANBURY -- State Police identified the man killed in a one-car crash on the New Jersey Turnpike Sunday evening as a Maryland man.

Trooper Alejandro Goez, a spokesman for the State Police, said Monday morning the man killed was Quincy Ross, 30, of Upper Marlboro, Md, who was traveling southbound shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday when he lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons.

Goez said Sunday Ross's vehicle, which was traveling on the outer roadway near milepost 72.7, overturned and landed in the inner roadway.

Alisa Green, 49, of Laurel, Md, was a passenger in the vehicle, Goez said. She was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick with non-life threatening injuries.

Ross died of his injuries from the crash, the trooper said.

Goez said the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
