Following a brief high-speed chase, police arrested a woman driving drunk late last week.

NORTH BRUNSWICK -- A woman suspected of driving intoxicated crashed into a center median on Route 1 North late last week after traveling more than 90 mph and erratically weaving in and out of lanes near the North Village Shopping Center.

Footage of the incident, captured on a police dashcam, shows a North Brunswick police officer attempting to pull over the vehicle for speeding. However, instead of stopping, the vehicle sharply weaved from the left lane in front of a car and into the right lane before losing control and looping back around and into the center median.

The driver, Ashley Mundy, 32, of Metuchen, was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where she was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening, according to a statement posted on the North Brunswick Police Department's Facebook page.

Mundy was arrested and charged with suspected DWl and several other motor vehicle offenses, according to the statement.

The Department, which is currently participating in the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign, further wrote in the statement: "we figured we would give you the Police Officer's perspective of a suspected DUI and what could happen."

The incident, police said, occurred just hours after the Department posted its #DriveSoberOrGetPulledOver message.
