Thomas Roach was last seen following his discharge from a rehab program in early July

EDISON -- Police and family members are seeking information on the whereabouts of a 52-year-old township man last seen when he was discharged from a hospital following treatment for alcoholism and oxycodone use.

Thomas Roach left Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Somerville July 10 and last spoke to family members June 2, notifying them of his decision to check in to a substance abuse rehabilitation program, according to a statement Monday by the township.

His vehicle containing personal belongings was found in the hospital's parking lot. A check of the hospital's surveillance video yielded no information, according to a statement posted to a Facebook page created by his family.

Roach is white, 5'10", with a fair complexion, graying brown hair and blue eyes. He has a birthmark over his left eye.

Police said Roach, an amateur sportsman, owns a registered Bauer .25-caliber handgun, but they do not know if he had the weapon when he was last seen.

Anyone with information about Roach or his whereabouts should contact Detective Jeff Tierney at (732) 261-3188 or jtierney@edisonpd.org.
