Aaron Williamson was arrested at a Turnpike rest area Friday
WOODBRIDGE -- An Irvington man faces a number of drug charges after State Police say he was found at a Turnpike rest area Friday with more than a quarter-million dollars in narcotics.
State Police spotted Aaron Williamson, 27, at the Thomas Edison service area Friday afternoon sitting in a Ford Fusion smoking marijuana, the agency said in a statement.
Police said a search of the car turned up 25,575 packets of heroin with an estimated street value of $250,000. Eight grams of marijuana and 50 oxycodone pills with an estimated value of $1,000 were also allegedly discovered.
Williamson has been charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of oxycodone and possession of marijuana. He was being held in the Middlesex County Jail on $200,000 bail.
Detectives Robert Kilmurray and Scott Tetzlaff were credited with the arrest.
