A house in Carteret was destroyed
CARTERET -- Two people were hurt and a home was destroyed during an early-morning fire in Carteret, according to a report.
The blaze ignited at about 5 a.m. a house near the intersection of Poplar and Hagaman streets, WABC-7 said. The fire has been extinguished, but crews are still on the scene as of 7 a.m.
A helicopter landed in a field to transport the injured to the hospital, according to CBS-2.
Both of the injured were described as "elderly," WABC 7 reported..
