Police recovered a body from the Raritan River on Thursday.
NEW BRUNSWICK -- A body was found Thursday in the Raritan River off Route 18 North.
Authorities found the body of "an adult male in the water near the boat slips of New Brunswick Landing," according to a statement from the New Brunswick Police Department.
Though a preliminary investigation did not indicate signs of foul play, officials in the statement said a determination would not be made until an autopsy was conducted.
Authorities from the New Brunswick Police Department ad officials from the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office and the Middlesex County Medical Examiner's Office responded to the scene located off Route 18 North near the Route 27 exit.
Officials said the identity of the man would not be released until the next of kin had been notified.
