PARSIPPANY -- All lanes were closed and traffic detoured on I-287 southbound Sunday after two people died in a "serious motorcycle accident," state police said.
The accident occurred near the mile marker 41 and was called in at 11:11 a.m. About an hour later, there were 30-minute delays, according to 511NJ.org.
The two individuals involved in the accident were declared dead on the scene. Further information about them was not immediately available, said N.J. State Police Trooper Alejandro Goez.
Goez said that all lanes should be back open by about 3:00 p.m.
Parsippany police and fire department are assisting and a helicopter was requested to the scene, Goez said.
