The Monroe man, whose name was not released, was sitting in the passenger seat of a Honda accord when it collided with a BMW sedan in the intersection of Route 535 and Route 32 around 1:30 p.m., police said.

The BMW hit the Accord on the passenger side, police said.

The Accord was traveling on Route 535 North when the driver made a left turn onto Route 32 West. The BMW sedan had been heading south on Route 535 when the crash occurred, police said.

The driver of the Accord was not injured. The driver of the BMW, a 55-year-old man from Philadelphia, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene, police said. Police did not release the names of the drivers.

The intersection of Route 535 and Route 32 -- which is near an on ramp to the New Jersey Turnpike -- was closed for roughly four hours.
