The $800K+ ticket was sold on Easton Avenue in New Brunswick
Someone who bought a lottery ticket near Rutgers University's College Avenue campus is several hundred thousands of dollars richer.
The winning $803,286 ticket for Monday's Jersey Cash 5 drawing was sold at Peter's Liquors on Easton Avenue in New Brunswick, state lottery officials said Tuesday morning. The store is directly across the street from St. Peter's University Hospital.
Monday's winning numbers were 6, 7, 12, 35 and 36. The XTRA number was: 5.
The jackpot climbed steadily higher after five straight days without a ticket matching all five numbers. The odds of a $1 ticket hitting the jackpot are 962,598 to 1.
Monday's prize is the largest for the statewide Cash 5 drawing since an $835,363 ticket was bought for the Sept. 21 drawing across the Raritan River in Piscataway.
