Senior citizens can adopt a cat or dog with no adoption fee.
EAST BRUNSWICK -- New Beginnings Animals Rescue is hoping to match senior citizens with pets with its ongoing "Purrfect Companions" adoption program.
Through the program, seniors can adopt a cat or dog with no adoption fee. At adoption, the pet will have been spayed or neutered, dewormed, given all necessary shots and received a thorough veterinary examination.
The program also allows for one complimentary veterinarian visit each year, and the rescue group will pay a person's residential "pet fee" if one applies.
To learn more about the program, call New Beginnings at 732-238-1348 or visit the rescue at 706-R Cranbury Road in East Brunswick Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3 to 7 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m.
Shelters interested in placing a pet in the Paw Print adoption column or submitting news should call 973-836-4922 or email middlesex@starledger.com.
