Nikole Otey's Toyota Corolla hit a guard rail, overturned and then was struck by another car
CRANBURY -- A woman was killed after her car crashed into a New Jersey Turnpike guardrail and overturned before being struck by another vehicle early Friday morning, authorities said.
Nikole Otey of Gloucester County, Va. was driving a Toyota Corolla northbound near milepost 69 in Cranbury just after midnight when she struck a guardrail separating the inner and outer roadways, according to a State Police spokesman.
Her vehicle flipped, and then was hit by a 2011 Jaguar driven by a 48-year-old Jersey City man, Sgt. Jeff Flynn said.
Otey was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Jaguar was not injured and is not expected to be charged. State Police are still investigating why Otey lost control of her car.
