CRANBURY -- A 60-year-old man was killed Friday evening after being crushed by a heavy piece of machinery at a loading dock off Route 130.
The man -- whose name is being withheld until notification of his family -- was killed by "a piece of heavy machinery" being loaded onto a trailer at Beta Crafts Inc., a manufacturer of humidity trays for plants, according to the Cranbury Police Department
At some point, "the equipment's stability was compromised, trapping the victim," Cranbury Police Chief Rickey Varga said in a statement released Saturday afternoon.
Authorities arrived at the loading dock around 5:15 p.m. where they saw the man's body "trapped between the loading dock" and the equipment, Varga said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
