Tinton Falls man charged with interfering with transportation
PISCATAWAY -- A 19-year-old who allegedly threw a soda bottle at another driver during a road rage incident on Interstate 287 Tuesday afternoon was arrested, State Police said.
Thomas Nicholson, of Tinton Falls, was charged with interfering with transportation, according to a news release.
Nicholson and the other motorist were driving north near milepost 9 at around 4:30 p.m. when the teenager allegedly flung the soft drink into the man's Acura RDX.
The driver took note of the license plate number on the Chrysler 300 and reported it to police. Nicholson was later taken into custody at his home.
He was booked at the Somerville barracks and then released.
Police didn't provide information about why Nicholson might have been agitated.
The State Police encouraged drivers to report aggressive behavior on the roads by dialing #77.
