MONROE -- A 12-year-old boy suffered a serious head injury Friday after he was hit by a car while riding his bike, police said.
Police said a 2009 Cadillac SRX was driving south on Old Forge Road at 3:45 p.m. when it struck a bicyclist near the intersection of Boxwood Drive.
The bicyclist, only identified as a 12-year-old Monroe resident, was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
The driver, 50-year-old Penny Radziewicz of Jamesburg, did not receive any injuries in the crash, police said.
The crash remains under investigation by Monroe police Sgt. Sergeis Jangols and Officer Daniel Mosakowski. Police asked that anyone who witnessed the crash to call the Traffic Safety Division at 732-521-0222 ext. 126.
