The driver of a tractor trailer was hospitalized Tuesday after his vehicle struck a median on I-287.
EDISON -- A man from Providence, Rhode Island, was hospitalized Tuesday after his tractor trailer struck a center median on I-287 near Exit 1.
Anderson Mercedes Hernandez, 29, was traveling southbound on I-287 near mile marker 1.6 at around noon when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle struck a median, causing a fuel leak, according to New Jersey State Police.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
The Middlesex County Hazardous Materials Unit responded to the scene and contained the fuel leak, officials said.
Hernandez was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for minor injuries, police said.
The tractor trailer was towed at around 2 p.m.
No summonses have been issued, authorities said.
The accident remains under investigation.
