The extent of the passengers' injuries in the Toyota RAV4 was unknown, but Woodbridge police said they did not appear serious.
WOODBRIDGE -- An SUV veered off Route 1 Tuesday morning, crashing into a KFC sign on the side of the highway.
The accident happened around 8 a.m. on the southbound side of the highway as the driver of the Toyota RAV4 tried to pull into the parking lot of the fast-food restaurant, according to Sgt. Daniel Perovic.
No injuries were reported in the accident, which occurred just before the onramp for the Garden State Parkway in Woodbridge.
The driver was issued a citation for careless driving.
