PERTH AMBOY - State and local authorities resumed a search of the Raritan River on Friday for a person in the Raritan River believed to have jumped from the Victory Bridge, officials said.
State Police continued the search around 9:30 a.m., assisting Perth Amboy police, under the Route 35 bridge, according to State Police Sgt. Gregory Williams.
The search started around 5 p.m. Thursday but marine units could not be seen on the river by 6 p.m. It was unclear when the search was called off.
No further details have been made available.
Perth Amboy police have not returned calls.
