Caterers and guest speakers had to wait to get paid
Vendors hired by Rutgers University didn't get paid on time this fall, according to a report on Philly.com.
Guest speakers, caterers and utilities are among the outside parties who received their checks late as the school merged and upgraded its financial systems, according to the report. Employees were paid on schedule.
Rutgers set up an emergency payment process to compensate vendors after problems began in October. Most of the glitches have since been fixed.
The university pays out more than $700 million annually to tens of thousands of vendors, according to the report.
