Edison men allegedly took 301 grams of marijuana before being arrested
MILLSBORO, Del. -- Two Edison men beat a Delaware man, tied him up and then stole his marijuana on Wednesday morning, authorities said.
Miguel R. Valasquez, 20, and Kent A. Mautes, 21, showed up at a house on Gull Point Road in Millsboro at 11:30 a.m. with rakes in hand offering to do yard work, Delaware State Police said in a news release.
When the 23-year-old resident declined, one of the men allegedly hit him in the face with a rake.
The duo then dragged the man to the garage where they zip tied his hands and feet together before one put a knife to his neck demanding to know where his marijuana was located, police said.
Velasquez and Mautes collected more than 301 grams of pot and fled in a Mitsubishi, according to officials.
They were arrested a short time later after police pulled them over on Oak Orchard Road. Both were charged with robbery, possession of a deadly weapon while committing a felony, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, aggravated menacing, conspiracy, terroristic threats and possession of marijuana.
Each was held on $70,000 bail at the Sussex County jail.
