Four people were arrested in East Brunswick on Wednesday after a caller reported their suspicious behavior
EAST BRUNSWICK -- Four people, including a 17-year-old, were arrested on Wednesday in connection with stolen jewelry, heroin possession and nearly $2,700 in cash, according to a statement from the East Brunswick Police Department.
At around 2 p.m., police responded to the area of Sullivan Way for a suspicious vehicle after a caller reported seeing people getting out of a vehicle and approaching several houses on the street, according to officials in the statement.
Officers found the vehicle with a woman and two men inside but determined a fourth person was at large.
Detectives later saw a man fitting the description of the fourth person in a taxi nearby and stopped the taxi on Corona Road.
The man in the taxi -- 24-year-old Ryan Carroll, of North Brunswick -- was found with stolen property, including "numerous pieces of jewelry that were reported stolen" by a resident on Sullivan Way, the statement said.
The three other suspects in the vehicle -- 23-year-old Shanita Daniels, of New Brunswick, 31-year-old Shawn Pellichero, of North Brunswick, and the 17-year-old from New Brunswick -- were arrested after being found in possession of suspected stolen jewelry, heroin, burglary tools, and $2,681 in cash, according to officials.
Daniels and Pellichero were charged with conspiracy to commit burglary. Carroll was charged with burglary, possession of stolen property, hindering apprehension, and possession of heroin, the statement said.
The three were held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center, and the juvenile, who was charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and heroin possession, was released to his parents, according to authorities.
