A borough man has been charged in connection with possessing and distributing child pornography.
HELMETTA -- A 24-year-old borough man has been charged in connection with possessing and distributing child pornography, the county prosecutor's office announced in a statement Friday.
Authorities arrested Daniel Leal at his home on Thursday after an investigation allegedly found he "maintained and exchanged pornographic photos and videos on the internet," the statement said.
He was charged with possession of child pornography, distribution of child pornography and intent to distribute the illicit materials, according to the statement.
The investigation was handled by the Helmetta Police Department and the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.
Leal was held at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center in North Brunswick.
The investigation is ongoing.
