Officers Glenn Wagner, Eric Fischer, Matthew Walczak and Michael Sexton graduated from the Cape May County Police Academy Wednesday
SAYREVILLE -- The borough's police department welcomed two new police officers to the local department Wednesday, as well as two other Middlesex County cops.
Officer Glenn Wagner and Officer Eric Fischer graduated from the Cape May County Police Academy after a 21-week program, along with Officer Matthew Walczak of the Old Bridge Township Police Department.
Walczak's father is Arthur Walczak, a retired Sayreville cop who pinned the badge on the new Old Bridge officer Wednesday.
Officer Michael Sexton, who went through the Alternative Route program, was given his badge by his uncle, Sayreville Police Capt. Jack Fitzsimmons. The Alternative Route program is a way for people to go through the academy without first being hired by a department, which pays for training's expenses for recruits.
