SOUTH BRUNSWICK -- A large light fixture fell Tuesday from a street pole and crashed through the rear window of a minivan after the driver bumped the pole while backing up, according to police.
The driver was not injured, police said.
But the driver, Anu Brasher, told CBS New York that she wants to know how the giant globe light could so easily be toppled after a light bump from her car.
Brasher said she didn't even realized she had touched the pole with her bumper before the back window shattered, CBS reported.
The South Brunswick Police Department shared a photo of her damaged minivan with a warning drivers of the dangers of backing up without looking.
CBS reported that the light posts are maintained by PSE&G. The company said it doesn't survey them, but it would reinstall the damaged one and check on others in the area.
