A New York man died Monday evening after colliding with a Suburban Coach bus on Route 18
EAST BRUNSWICK -- A New York man died Monday evening after colliding with a commuter bus on Route 18, police said.
The man was identified Tuesday as 75-year-old Steven Kahn of Kenoza Lake, N.Y., according to Lt. Sean Goggins.
The crash happened just after 6 p.m. as Kahn tried to switch lanes in his 2015 Nissan Rogue while heading southbound on the highway, hitting the side of the Suburban Coach bus near Eggers Street, Goggins said.
Kahn was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later, according to police.
No one has been charged in the crash. Police are still investigating.
Anyone who saw the incident can call 732-390-6969.
An earlier version of this story listed the bus as a NJ Transit bus. NJ Transit has said the 2003 MCI NJ Transit bus was operated by the private bus company.
