Farrahd Williams was arrested Thursday and charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons charges
NEW BRUNSWICK -- City police have made an arrest in a shooting near the Middlesex County Superior Court over the weekend, authorities said.
Farrahd Williams was arrested Thursday and charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and weapons offenses, New Brunswick Police Capt. J.T. Miller said in a release.
The 23-year-old allegedly opened fire on two men outside the Court Tavern at the intersection of Church and Spring streets just after 1:15 a.m., Miller said.
The two men -- a 23-year-old from Hackensack and a 25-year-old from Brooklyn -- were shot in the leg and taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
Police believe the shooting stemmed from an argument that happened between the three earlier in the night at the city bar, according to Miller.
The incident occurred about an hour before an unrelated fatal stabbing that same morning in New Brunswick on Hamilton Street.
Police are still investigating the shooting. Anyone with information can call (732) 735-5217.
