TRENTON -- The girlfriend of a man found fatally stabbed in a West Ward apartment Monday evening has been charged in his killing, authorities said Tuesday.
Briann Lindsey (Police photo) Briann Lindsey, 25, is charged with murder and related weapons charges in the death of Christopher Johnson, 35, of South Brunswick, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office said.
Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene inside Lindsey's apartment on Clearfield Avenue.
Trenton police were called to the residence in the 300 block at about 4:15 p.m. Monday for a reported stabbing.
Officers and an EMS crew found Johnson on the floor in a hallway, and Lindsey in the apartment, the prosecutor's office said.
Lindsey was charged later Monday with Johnson's death.
The prosecutor's office said their investigation shows Johnson was stabbed in the apartment's kitchen and collapsed in the hallway. And Lindsey tried to clean up the crime scene before police arrived.
Lindsey is expected to appear in Mercer County Superior Court Tuesday afternoon for an initial appearance.
The prosecutor's Homicide Task Force investigated the killing.
