A Rutgers University student was assaulted near campus early Wednesday morning.
NEW BRUNSWICK -- A Rutgers University student was assaulted near the college's campus early Wednesday morning, police say.
The male student was reportedly assaulted at around 12:45 a.m. following a "verbal dispute outside a residence" on College Avenue between Somerset and Hamilton streets, according to police in a statement.
The student went to the hospital for injuries that officials said were not life-threatening.
The incident is being investigated by the New Brunswick Police Department.
