The fundraiser helped Enable, an organization that supports people with disabilities, raise money
WEST WINDSOR - Enable, a non-profit organization that provides support for people with disabilities, joined with several South Asian dance and performance groups this weekend to raise money for Enable's cause.
The fundraiser, which was called "Winter Manmohini," featured performances from various groups in the area including The Indian Cultural Society of East Brunswick, which performed "Romance in the Garden: Bhagavad-Ajjuka."
In another part of the show, Sparsh Shah, a 13-year-old prodigy who uses a wheelchair, performed. Shah has written 13 songs and performed over 70 times, according to a statement from Enable.
Closing off the night was Satrangi School of Fusion, which is led by Rohit Baxi. Baxi lost a leg to cancer when he was a child but still went on to found Dance with Wings, which provides free dance lessons to children and families living with developmental challenges. The School of Fusion performance included over 300 dancers, some of whom were from Dance with Wings, according to the statement.
The even was nearly sold out Saturday and raised money for Enable to continue to support children and adults living with disabilities, the statement said.
