Trucks hauling trash, milk overturn on Turnpike in New Brunswick

The drivers suffered minor injuries

NEW BRUNSWICK -- The drivers of two tractor trailers suffered non-life-threatening injuries when they both overturned on the New Jersey Turnpike Monday night, State Police said.

The accident occurred around 9:07 p.m. on the northbound outer roadway. One of the vehicles was hauling milk and the other trash, State Police said. Debris from at least one of the vehicles spilled onto the roadway and two lanes remained closed as of about 10 p.m.

One of the drivers was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation Monday night.
